Storyboards

I love them... whether you call them storyboards, collages, whatever. I love them. I love that they're almost like a digital scrapbook page. I love that they're sturdy enough to hold their own without a frame. I love their simplistic look. I love them.

Here are three that I made for the Roberts Family. Which is your favorite?

Giving is Awesome... yes it is!

Back in December, you probably remember me asking for nominations of families who you thought were deserving of a free custom portrait session. Your nominees were families who have faced hardships and for whatever reason, would not otherwise be able to afford a custom photographer.

The Roberts Family was chosen, and our session was completed this afternoon. Words cannot describe how much fun I had with Anthony, Mandy, and their son Landon. We walked all around the main campus area at Valdosta State University and had a wonderful time exploring.

I must warn you that this post has picture overload. There was no way that I could keep it down to my usual 5-6 images. In fact, I'm already finished editing the session and it wasn't even 5 hours ago. Let's face it, when a kid is as adorable as Landon, I couldn't help editing his adorable face. You'll see quite a few expressions in the pictures below!

My favorite image from the session... and possibly of all time.

Thank you SO much, Roberts Family, for allowing me to capture your family. And special thanks to Anthony's sister for nominating them!

Hinged Albums -- NEW Product Offering!

I am beyond excited to introduce a new product to The Bond Between Us Photography! I just received my sample album, and I couldn't wait to share it all with you. I've been offering albums since the beginning, but they've always been in a slip-in format which means that the images and the album were two separate pieces. I've been wanting to have another option for clients, and here it is! These new albums have surpassed my expectations!

Covers are available in fabric (shown below) in three colors and leather. A personalized cover can also be made using one of your images.

What I love the most about these albums is that I have creative freedom over choosing images, how to decorate the pages, and I have the ability to insert meaningful quotes to tell your story.

See what I mean about hinged pages? I love that they're not like a traditional book that you have a large spine to maneuver... these pages are designed to lay open flat.

Albums are available in sizes 8x8 (shown in these images), 8.5x11, 10x10, and 12x12, and can range in thickness from 20 sides (10 pages) to 90 sides (45 pages), often depending on the number of images we use and how many images to a side. Pricing will be quoted based on the size of the album and pages request. All albums will be designed by me, but clients will be able to proof the images and make revisions.

Please e-mail me if you'd like to find out more about this amazing new product!

**Please disregard my product photography skills... maybe one day I'll take that up as well. Is so much easier to focus on faces. :)**

Rock of Ages

Rock of Ages is a Lutheran church in the Atlanta area. My husband's step-father is the pastor there, and has been for several years. Ever since we began dating (almost 9 years ago) I've visited this church for worship when we're in town. I've been in that sanctuary too many times to count. Yet not until a recent trip to Atlanta did I see this piece of art.
Randy, Brett's step-father, asked me to take a few pictures of a stained glass piece that was constructed by the founding members of the congregation. I was amazed at its size, and fascinated with the meaning behind it. I can picture all of them working together, piece by piece, to fashion this breath-taking artwork.

While there, I also took advantage of the empty sanctuary and took a few shots of the alter and the other stained glass works of art. I love the natural light shining in on the alter in this first image.

Newlyweds

Amy and Adam are newlyweds since December, and it was definitely obvious that these two like one another a lot. :) Adam is preparing to leave soon to Afghanistan with the National Guard, so Amy wanted to make sure to have some casual pictures before he left. We met up at the north campus of Valdosta State University and had fun walking around. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining, and love was in the air.

The dog, Mercy, joined us for a few shots too. I love this one of Mercy in focus with Amy and Adam in the background.

Thanks you two, for a great session. I'll see you soon!

Amber Jaylnn

Amber was born last Tuesday, and I was so excited to take some pictures of her Sunday afternoon. The weather didn't cooperate, so we were only able to take a few images, but I hope to re-schedule soon for a full session with her!

What I wouldn't give...

... for lashes and blue eyes like these!
Saturday I met up with Colten and his mom again for a spring-time session. I'm amazed at how much he's grown since photographing him as a newborn. It was so much fun talking to him and hearing him coo back at me.

And, because it's almost Easter... :)

School-Aged Kids... know any?

One of my projects this weekend has been to update my website to include my most current work. Sadly, it's been about a year since I've gone through and added images... terrible! I feel like my photography has improved and my style has become more defined, and as such my online portfolio should reflect that growth.
As a result, I'm doing a casting call for school-aged children*. See the information below for details!

*Previous clients are more than welcome to schedule a regular session to get updated portraits of their school-aged child, but this Casting Call will be limited to new clients only. Thank you in advance for your understanding. *

Cuteness Has Come to Town!

Amber was born Tuesday! You might remember seeing some resemblance of her during THIS session, although she was hidden from view by a little belly. :)
I'll be doing her newborn session this weekend, but I couldn't wait until then to see her pretty face. Yesterday I went up to the hospital to visit her, and captured these images.
Congratulations Kelly and Philip... your baby girl is amazing!
