Kala and I are friends through the Valdosta Junior Woman's Club, and I was excited to have an opportunity to take some portraits for her, her husband, and her parents. We met out at Kala and Matt's house in Adel for a relaxed portrait session geared toward using images for their Christmas cards. I'm not sharing the final images they chose for their cards, but here are a few of my favorites from our session together! More images to come from an additional session with Matt's family. Stayed tuned to see them soon!
Kelly and Philip have been married for six years. When we started talking about family portraits (seen HERE) Kelly asked if I could spend some time with just the two of them for portraits to celebrate their anniversary. I've never seen a dad/husband more participatory in a photo session before. I think his good behavior was Kelly's request for a present. :) Whatever it took, it was worth it... because these images show fun, togetherness, and love!
Amy and Adam are newlyweds since December, and it was definitely obvious that these two like one another a lot. :) Adam is preparing to leave soon to Afghanistan with the National Guard, so Amy wanted to make sure to have some casual pictures before he left. We met up at the north campus of Valdosta State University and had fun walking around. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining, and love was in the air.
The dog, Mercy, joined us for a few shots too. I love this one of Mercy in focus with Amy and Adam in the background.
Thanks you two, for a great session. I'll see you soon!
Yesterday morning, despite the 32 degree weather, Tyler, Niki and myself braved the cold for a "just because" photo shoot. Tyler's mother won my auction at annual fundraiser The Haven holds in August, and gave the session to them. We decided on the north campus at VSU for our session, and tried to incorporate more than just the traditional bridge for our pictures. We had fun walking all around and stopping at various points to see what was available.
Niki had concern that pictures would turn out a little "off" since Tyler is a foot taller than her. I reassured her that I knew exactly what she meant, since my husband and I have about the same different in height.
Since these pictures weren't for any particular occasion, I made sure to capture of a few of them individually. Tyler looks so sharp here.
And Niki is beautiful in this simple portrait.
I just had to include this image because we were laughing at how serious Tyler looks in all of his pictures... Niki tried to pull off the serious look here.
But before long she was back to her pretty smiles.
Even though it was freezing, the sun was determined to shine! I love sunflare shots, and was thrilled to capture this one!
