Cleaning is not one of my strong points. Usually not until people are pulling into my driveway do I look around and freakishly clean my house.
Such is true with pictures as well, I guess. This morning while editing some of my favorite images from the Butterfly Rainforest (and saving them super big so that when they're printed they'll be awesome) I got an error on my screen reading that the files were too big and I didn't have enough space. How's that for a wake-up call?
While I'm burning CDs and archiving all of the pictures from 2008, I thought to offer a little special here for my clients from last year. If you'd like the opportunity to purchase the final images from your portrait session, shoot me an e-mail and they can be yours for $150*. You'll even get a print release allowing you to print them at your leisure for personal use. One heck of a deal if you ask me.
And, just because I love it so much, here's an image from 2008 that pulls at my heart strings. Here's Samuel from THIS session.
* Pricing good from March 31 through April 15.

13 days young...
I really am speechless for this post. The pictures communicate everything that I feel toward this beautiful child. Madeline is just 13 days young here, but you've seen her before... in THIS post.
Even better than being able to capture Madeline this tiny, is that Madeline's parents invested in my Bloomin' Baby package which will carry her through her first year in pictures!

Grand Bay on a lazy Sunday
Sunday mid-morning, Brett and I went for a ride out to Grand Bay. We've been there several times before, but we've never taken Cindy Lou (our dog) with us. She had a wonderful time exploring! The weather couldn't have been better. We saw a cluster of wild hogs, a few herons, and even three alligators! It is so relaxing out there!

Savannah
I love when this happens... clients love their photographic experience, and spread the news to others! This morning I had the opportunity to do a photo session with Savannah because of this very reason. THIS little guy's mom referred Savannah's mom to me. Savannah is an adorable 9 week old. We had a wonderful time taking photos, eating, and playing with her brother.
Thanks again, Heather! It was wonderful meeting you and Savannah today!

Kelly's Bump
Kelly is a great friend of mine, and not just because we share the same name. Kelly and I spend all day together at our full-time job, so it was a given that she allow me to showcase her belly on my blog! We met up Saturday morning for her maternity session, and had so much fun striking poses all over downtown Valdosta. Here are just a few of my favorites from her session:
I can't wait for Baby Amber's arrival, which should happen in the next few weeks. I hope to be able to do her newborn session too! If she looks anything like her momma, she'll be adorable!

Zack & Shannon
Last Saturday, I met up with Lindsey and Laura for a photo session of their kids. Lindsey's brother is married to Laura, and both Zack and Shannon are similar ages. I photographed them in 2007 HERE and was excited when they wanted to schedule another session.
Now I have to warn you that photographing two almost two-year olds is D.I.F.F.I.C.U.L.T. I was exhausted after the session! Lindsey and I spoke after the session, and at least she felt the same way as me. :) You won't find the typical "smiling child" pictures here... they were on the move and refused to stop the whole time! Boy, if I could bottle up that energy I'd be rich!
Meet Zack.
Meet Shannon.
See Shannon say "cheese".
See Zack pretend he's a GQ model (I swear this was not posed!)
See Zack and Shannon play.
Lindsey and Laura, thanks for being so patient! I've been battling allergies and have had no stamina to stay up and edit photos! I'll be sending you an e-mail soon to let you know that they're finished!

Happy Tears on a Tuesday Morning
Before work every morning, I have a ritual of checking all of my favorite blogs. I haven't looked at Lyndsay's blog in a few days, so when I pulled it up this morning I was greeted by this YouTube video she posted last week. It was amazing, and yes, I cried. I'm such a sap.
Lyndsay is a photographer in Austin, and she does breathtaking work, and this video definitely shows how she, I, and a bunch of other photographers I know feel about our work.
If you have viewing capabilities, this video is wonderful. It's about 6 minutes, so get comfy... and grab a tissue if you might need one. :)

Official Butterfly Post :)
As I mentioned in my previous post, my friend Lindsi and I went down to Gainesville on Thursday to the Butterfly Rainforest which is part of the Florida Museum of Natural History. Saying that it was an awesome experience is definitely an understatement, and I could have easily spent even more time admiring these creatures. The butterfly guides were extremely knowledgeable about the different types of butterflies, their behavior, and how to get them to land on you. Thankfully, the weather was warm and sunny so the butterflies cooperated nicely with our plan for pictures.
After leaving the rainforest area, we ventured to the butterfly research area. It was interesting seeing the workers put together pallets of cocoons. Also shown below is a new butterfly who just broke free from his cocoon!
* What do you think of the way I have these pictures laid out... it's a bit different than my norm of putting my logo on every image, but I think I like that the images aren't distracted. Leave a comment and let me know which you prefer.*
