As I finalize my plans for this evening's wedding, I thought I'd take a break and recap the terrible dream that I had last night. I was 30 minutes late to the wedding, took only about a hand-full of pre-ceremony pictures, the guys had on tuxes in different flourescent colors, and there was horrible lighting. As in, none of my pictures came out. Thankfully, I woke up... and then realized that I've just got to relax!!! =)
I hope to be able to share some AWESOME images from this wedding with you all. I'm really excited, and the bride & groom have been fantastic to work with so far! Cross your fingers for me!!!
This post is inspired by Jen of Jen Lee Photography (link to her blog to the right). She made a list of her favorite things, and since my birthday is less than a month away, thought I might make a list of my own! =)
Saturday's family session was at Grand Bay, a wonderful nature preserve area in Valdosta. It's so peaceful, serene, and beautiful. After the session, I was able to take the following pictures to add to my nature portfolio. It's always neat to go there and find something new to photograph!
Okay, I'll admit it... this was a challenge for me. A mom and two adult children (well, 17 is almost adult). I had to throw out my ideas for "kid" poses, and figure out how I would photograph three adults. I was approached by Ms. Smith for a last-minute photo session, as her daughter was coming home for the weekend from grad school. (She was referred by the family with the adorable three boys from last weekend.) Luckily, I didn't have anything planned yesterday during the time alotted for the session! I was really excited to being doing a session at Grand Bay. I've been there a hundred times, but never photographing people... only nature.
Here are a few of the first images I've been able to proof so far. Thanks, Smith Family, I had a lot of fun!
With Mother's Day quickly approaching, I wanted to offer something special for everyone out there. Choose any one of the following, and you'll be sure to make Mother's Day a hit!

Option 2: A gift certificate (starting at $30) for any session or print fee purchase.
... tree climbin', hammin' up the camera, full of laughs 'n' giggles.... boys. This morning's shoot was a blast with a capital B. The M family is so full of love and laughter; a perfect combo, if you ask me. I've got a bunch of photos to proof from their session, but wanted to give Mom a sneak peek.
... are the only words I can think to describe my "little" brother. He and my mom came in for a quick visit this afternoon on the way back home from his Spring Break vacation. We met for lunch, and then had a quick photo shoot. Despite the fact that he doesn't like smiling, I love these pictures of him. He's got a GREAT complexion, and just enough wave in his hair. (Can you tell I'm jealous?) =).
I'm also including one of my mom. Why? Because I can! And because I love it too!
... put the camera in front of your own face. Last night was PERFECT lighting. It was overcast all day, and just before sunset, I noticed that the skies were gorgeous. CindyLou wouldn't pose for me on her own, so I set up my tripod, turned my camera to Auto, and set the timer. She didn't cooperate in most of them, but I love this shot. She's the greatest dog anyone could ask for!!
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of meeting the W Family. The were dressed perfectly for spring, although the weather didn't cooperate. It was FREEZING!! A big thanks to them for making the best of the situation! Here are a few teasers from their session.
You'll notice big sister to be a familiar face... from the maternity session I did last month! Miss S arrived last week, and I was thrilled to schedule a newborn session while her grandmother was in town too! I'm planning on going back when she's a little bigger, and more willing to cooperate. Until then, enjoy yourselves with these cute pics!!
My husband NEVER comes with me to photo shoots, but since the location was at his work (he works at the local university) he decided to stop in. Miss A is SUCH a flirt... she stared at my husband the whole shoot. I literally had to tell him to stand behind me so that she'd look in my direction. I guess I can't blame her; he is a cutie! =)Here's a glimpse into Miss A's session.
