I posted a teaser for Erin and her mom last night after Erin's maternity session yesterday, and I couldn't wait to be able to post more.
Erin's maternity session was very emotional to me. For those who read this blog from afar and don't know the circumstances, here's a little background. Erin's boyfriend passed away three weeks ago following a fatal motorcycle accident. Just two months shy of the birth of their child, Erin was faced with knowing that she would have to raise her son, Trip, without his father. Mike, her boyfriend, was in the military and knew that his job might lead him into dangerous territory. Who would have thought that a ride out with friends would have ended so tragically?
Erin and I had discussed her maternity portraits before this, and to be honest, I was unsure of how to bring up the topic. On one hand, I would completely understand if she didn't want to follow through, and on the other, I thought it might be a wonderful opportunity for her to get excited about the baby's arrival.
Thankfully, she chose the latter. I remember talking to her about what she might want to wear, and giving her links to inspirational websites. She said that she was looking at them with her mom and saying that all of the pictures had a woman and man together... and that hers would be so different. I'm happy to report that Mike WAS in a few pictures (as you'll see farther down). I have to say thanks to my own mom who suggested the pose.
Here are some favorites of the 50+ proofs I'm showing Erin:

Erin, a wonderful friend (and past co-worker of mine) is pregnant... and beautiful! During her maternity session this morning I realized that she didn't have a single stretch mark. Not that I've had children, but I still didn't think it was fair. Lucky gal! Here's one of the first pictures I proofed from her session, and until I have more time to post, I'll leave you with this:

Instead of posting a bunch of pictures, I decided to make a collage of the flora and fauna that we saw during vacation. Seriously, I could live there... it was so relaxing!
Brett and I just got back from our wonderfully relaxing vacation to the beach! We spent great fun with my in-laws (how many people can say that?!). Boat rides galore, yummy food, and breath-taking sunsets. Pictures are DEFINTELY coming, but because we just got home... nothing yet!
I noticed that quite a few people voted on my poll to the right in the past week -- thanks for the wonderful comments while we were gone... keep them coming!
Kellis - We're home!!
Renee - I'm so happy that you like Dalton's smiling picture.
Patty - Malia is absoutely adorable. I'm glad you like her pictures!

I'm headed to Florida for a week, and won't have e-mail or internet access... while I'm pretty attached to the computer, it will be a nice change.
Feel free to keep the e-mails coming for portrait sessions or wedding inquiries. Just know that you won't get a reply until next Sunday evening. Have a great week!
*BTW, any creepy people around, yes, there will be someone at my house... you're not getting off that lucky!
I can't help but post another image of Dalton. What a wonderfully special moment between mother and son.
