Lindsey :: Maternity

Lindsey and Wes are near and dear to my heart... we're related by marriage. Even if they weren't, though, they would still be good in my book! :)
In preparation for Baby Cassidy's arrival soon (her due date is 11-11-11, pretty cool, huh?) we scheduled a maternity session last weekend to capture this special time in their lives. Lindsey and Wes are laid-back, so we took a relaxed approach with their session. We had fun hanging out and capturing meaningful images.

Pepper & Ash :: Maternity

Pepper & Ash have been so awesome to meet and get to know! Pepper works at VSU with my husband, so they're friends on FB. Through the magic of FB, Brett saw that Pepper wanted a maternity session. He suggested me to her, she e-mailed me that afternoon, and within 48 hours we were shooting her session!
The weather that weekend was less than desirable, but we made it work. Pepper and Ash weren't looking for the run-of-the-mill maternity session, so we met downtown and had some fun against the uniquely textured area. Here are a few of my favorites from our session together!

The H Family

Amy & Adam are expecting a baby in 2011, but didn't want their pups thinking they weren't a family of four already. :) They scheduled a holiday session to capture this time in their lives, and to share images with family and friends for Christmas. Here are some of my favorites!

Heather & Mike: Maternity

A few weeks ago, I received a phone call from a previous client of mine saying she wanted to buy a gift certificate for her co-worker. I was so excited to hear that Heather is pregnant, and that Erin wanted to gift her a photography session! (It's such a great idea and available to anyone, by the way... no doubt that you don't have to worry about duplicate gifts!!)
Heather & Mike joined me here in Valdosta for their maternity session. Baby Luke is due to arrive any day now, and I can't wait to share his images soon. I am thrilled to be able to document this time in their lives. Here are a handful of my favorites!

Jenn : Maternity

Jenn's mom called last week to say that she needed to schedule a maternity session. Jenn's sister, Erin, had a baby two years ago and I was lucky enough to be her photographer. I felt honored to be asked again to document such a wonderful time in their family!
As luck would have it, I had a cancellation on Saturday morning, so we made arrangements to meet up for her maternity session. It was a beautiful morning for pictures, and I'm so happy with the outcome. Here are a few sneak peek images!

Natural Beauty

I am so lucky to have the greatest friends ever. This weekend I traveled to Birmingham, Alabama to have a girl's weekend with nine of my closest friends. Though we come from all walks of life and have very busy lives, we've managed to remain close for the past five years. Two of the girls this weekend are pregnant, and we are all so excited. One isn't too far along (but I swear I'll get pictures in a few months). Dusty, however, is... and it's beautiful!
Dusty is truly a natural beauty. She can be girly-girl one minute, but then practical and getting dirty the next. She also has awesome fashion and lifestyle sense that can be followed all around the world through her blog (http://www.allthingsgd.blogspot.com/). You've got to check her out!
In preparing for our girl's weekend, Dusty and I have been talking about her baby bump getting some action on my blog. Her baby is 26 weeks old today, and I can't wait to see her continue to grow and see her cute face one day! Until, here are some pictures of Dusty and her adorable baby belly!

Kelly's Bump

Kelly is a great friend of mine, and not just because we share the same name. Kelly and I spend all day together at our full-time job, so it was a given that she allow me to showcase her belly on my blog! We met up Saturday morning for her maternity session, and had so much fun striking poses all over downtown Valdosta. Here are just a few of my favorites from her session:

I can't wait for Baby Amber's arrival, which should happen in the next few weeks. I hope to be able to do her newborn session too! If she looks anything like her momma, she'll be adorable!

Emma is getting a baby sister!

Saturday afternoon, I met up with the Barton Family for maternity portraits. The story of how they found me is pretty funny, because what I didn't realize is that I already knew them! Leslie was referred to me by a friend of hers and while she and her husband were looking at my blog, he discovered that he actually works with my husband at VSU. Small world, huh?
Because the campus of VSU has special meaning to the Barton's (they met during college) we chose to shoot there. I love when clients have a connection with our shoot location... it always seems to add a little more to the session.
My post title revolves around Emma because even though we were doing the shoot for her mom, she totally ran the show! She gave me a play-by-play of the shots that I should get, and even showed me her awesome ballet moves while her mom was changing outfits. :)
Here are some of my favorites from the session!

Barton Family, thanks for an entertaining afternoon! I can't wait for the arrival of Baby B and hope that we can set up a session when she comes. Be looking for an e-mail later this week with details on the rest of your session!!

Mareca & Jason

This weekend I met up with Mareca and Jason for their maternity session as they prepare for the arrival of Baby M in a few weeks. Mareca was very clear in her expectations of her maternity session to be fun and not the traditional maternity images that you typically see. I was so excited when they chose downtown Valdosta for their session! Mareca and Jason had absolutely no trouble warming up to the camera, and it was so refreshing to capture their images since I took a break in December for the holidays!
