It's Alive...

... my website, that is!
I am SO excited to announce the birth of my website!! For those of you who know me personally, you know the struggle it's been to get it up and running. But it's here, and I feel like the happiest girl in the world.

Class of 2007

C is a senior I've known for a few years, and the first teenage guy I've photographed. We were cut short on time for various reasons, but I felt that we got some great images. I'm sure his mom will love them... and let's face it, isn't that what it's all about! =)

My New Friends, Mr. & Mrs. K

Words cannot describe how fun my first wedding as a photographer turned out to be! G & S made the event so much fun... it felt as though I was at the wedding of family and friends.
I've just begun sorting through the 400+ shots that I took, but here are a few of my favorites from the Big Day!

Special thanks to my assistant, K, who helped out a great deal! I wouldn't have gotten such wonderful pictures if not for her!

The Big Day...

Nervous. Excited. Butterflies. Sweaty palms. Heart racing.

And that's just the photographer! Today, I have my first job as a wedding photographer. I'm heading down to St. Augustine to shoot an afternoon beach wedding. I was contacted by the bride's daughter on a photography forum I participate in, and they loved my portraits!
Here's hoping that we have great weather (a little cloudy would be optimal) and that the temperature is nice. Maybe a little breeze... goodness, I'm sounding picky! Haha.

I can't wait to share my images with you!

Spring Is Upon Us!

Even if the first official day of Spring isn't until the middle of the week, flowers have begun to bloom in the Azalea City! Thought to share of few of these... one remains as my computer's background.

I think I can... I think I can...

Slowly but surely, this website thing is coming along. I thought I had it done, and was struggling with uploading information from my computer to the web... but I then decided to keep it down and work on making it better. No sense it having it go "live" only to take it down for updates right away.
Fingers crossed, everything will be done within the next week or so. I'm really excited to show everyone a more professional side of my photography!

And just because I like teasing everyone, here's a sneak peak at my front page!

A Wedding This Evening...

Brett and I are attending a wedding this evening, the sister of a friend of ours. I'm really excited about going as it will be a Full Mass ceremony. I'm planning to take my camera in hopes of caputring some good images of our friend's sister and her husband. For now though, here's a picture of their gift!

Sportin' My New Props...

CindyLou had a short-lasted desire to be my model today... well, okay, let's be honest... she has a look of horror on her face. =) But, she poses well, and I couldn't resist.
She's sporting my new spring/summer props for photo shoots. I fell in love with the idea of doing tutu pictures last year, but never got around to doing any while the weather was warm enough. And then the other day I found the headband at Tar-jee, and couldn't reist buying it. I can't wait to use these on my next little girl shoot!!

Charity Event Donation

I love an opportunity where I am able to give back to the community. Over the holidays, I was able to help residents of the Haven's Battered Women Shelter ring in the Christmas spirit with free portraits, and I'm now donating my services again!!
I have to stop and rest every once in a while, and think about how fortunate I am to have what I do in life... a house, a great marriage, and a wonderful job. Not everyone is this lucky. So, I try to think about ways to utilize my photography to help others... and I've found another way to reach out!
I am excited to be helping the Child Advocacy Center of Lowndes County in their 8th Annual Fundraiser - a Sporting Clay Shoot. The mission of the CAC is to minimize the trauma to child victims of sexual and physical abuse. This year, I'm donating a door prize for the event. As a thanks for making a donation to the CAC, the winner of this door prize will receive the following promo card displayed in a 5x7 picture frame and a free photography session with a $25 print credit.

Buffy

During my maternity session on Saturday, Buffy kept wanting to get in the camera's frame. After taking pictures of L, I took some of her. She's such a camera hog... and she look so stylish in her Ramone's jacket!

My Sisters-In-Law

After the maternity shoot on Saturday, I just couldn't get enough! I've not had the photographer's high for a while... and it's definitely back!
I asked A & B if they'd like to be my models for a quick trip to the park. They were game, so we piled into the car and went. Let me tell you... we had a blast! I promised not to post the bloopers, so here are the "real" pictures:

Bun in the Oven

L has got the cutest belly! Perfectly round, and sticking out just a bit. Beautiful for pictures, if you ask me.
We had a blast together on Saturday. I actually had to cut out a lot of the pictures during her session because we were talking the entire time! See, L and I grew up together... we met in 7th grade. We were inseparable throughout high school, but needed some time apart in college. About two years ago, she got in contact with me, and have kept in touch since.
Six months ago, she called to tell me she was pregnant by saying, "I love the pictures on your site... I'd love for you to take my maternity pictures!"
Well, L... here's a sneak peek from your session!

A weekend full of photography!

Are you ready to look at some pictures?! I had the absolute pleasure of almost running out of battery juice because I was snapping away this weekend!
Saturday was filled with photographs; one full session and three mini-sessions. First up, was a maternity session for my best friend from middle/high school. Next was her dog, the cutest little puff ball around! Saturday late afternoon was spent with my two sister-in-laws for some photo fun at the park.

It was so energizing being able to have this many shoots, and be able to spend this much time behind the camera. I haven't been able to proof anything yet, but come back soon... because you'll have a bunch to look at!!
