A favorite!

I always have favorites... in each session, each wedding, each landscape grouping. While finishing up with Stacy and Phil's wedding from August 4, I saw this of Phil and his daughter, Courtney. Definitely one of my favorite's from the day... you can just see the happiness that Courtney has being around her dad!

(Your read correctly, Stacy, I'm done with your images!!!)

Kentucky Landscapes

While visiting my mom last weekend, I took the opportunity to have fun with her surroundings. She lives in SUCH a peaceful area... I can totally understand why she made the change from Atlanta! Here are a few pictures taken from around her house.

Military Special!

In my personal life, I have several friends who serve in the Air Force, a family member who is in the Army, and a slew of acquaintances that share ties with people involved in different military branches.

With cooler months ahead (hopefully!) and a need to begin thinking about this year's christmas cards, I wanted to extend a photography special to active duty military families. Mention this blog post and receive a **free** family session, as well as 15% off ordered prints.

This offer is valid through October 31st (booking and session completed by then). If interested, e-mail me at: thebondbetweenus@gmail.com

P.S. Friends/clients/random people of mine... if you know a military family that might be interested in this offer, please send them this blog address. You might just get a little something special yourself!

TAG!

I’ve been tagged! In blog speak, it means that I’ve been contacted by a fellow blog reader (Jen from JenLee Photography!) and asked to share 8 interesting facts about myself and then “tag” others to do the same.
So, here’s my list!

8. If I had to pick another occupation I would choose to be a teacher.

7. My favorite vacation ever was to Aruba for my 21st birthday.
6. I have a problem with checking my e-mail all the time.
5. I like tomato sauce, but not tomatoes. Similarly, I like strawberry flavored things, but not strawberries.
4. I have an addiction to Coca-Cola.
3. I’ve never been to the West Coast.
2. My husband and I have been together for almost 7 years. We went on our first date after a mutual friend meeting us for dinner cancelled on us. It was at Ruby Tuesdays.
1. The last time I had my picture taken by a professional photographer – other than my wedding - was when I was in high school. (Sad, huh?)

A Series In the Sky

This weekend, I flew up to spend time with my mom in Kentucky. I haven't flown since beginning to be serious with my photography... I can't tell you how excited I was to get in the air so I could take pictures. :) Here are a few from the series. It was neat because I flew up there during the day, but flew back right at sunset. Perfect.

I couldn't resist

I'm not usually one for selective coloring on a picture, but every once in a while it just works. It "just worked" with this image of Melissa, taken during our TTD session last weekend.

Pachelbel's Canon in D....

I was perusing through a few photography blogs today, and I came up on with this...

It's amazing, isn't it?! It gives a whole new perspective to the traditional wedding song!

The Haven's Silent Auction

Saturday night at Mathis City Auditorium, the Haven's Battered Women Shelter will host its annual silent auction fundraiser. I went to the event last year, and was awed by the number of submissions... all wanting to help support the fight against domestic violence. I'm so excited to participating this year! I'll be donating a free session with a $50 print credit.

Since only one person can win this great deal, I thought I'd offer a little something to everyone else. If you contact me and book a session between tomorrow and August 31, I will donate 10% of your print sales to the Haven. The session doesn't have to be completed by August 31st, however, just the booking.

If you're interested in this special, shoot me an e-mail (thebondbetweenus@gmail.com) and mention this blog entry!!

Stacy & Phil Get Married!

Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure of photographing the joining of two families. Stacy and her four children, and Phil and his two girls. Not only were Stacy and Phil marrying, but they were forming a new family. It was so funny... Stacy was so calm, it was the kids who were crying. Which shows how much love and happiness they have for their parents. Here's a sneak peak of the big day!

Trashin' in Amelia Island

Saturday morning, I met up with Melissa and Amelia at Fort Clinch State Park on Amelia Island. Who would have guessed that we would cause such commotion there... it was also the weekend that the Civil War reinactment group is at the fort providing tours and information about the soldiers during that time period. The sargeant of the group informed us that Melissa and Amelia weren't appropriately dressed. After all, in 1864 the women wore long-sleeved dresses and bonnets covering their heads. :) Thankfully, we managed to slide by, and I was able to capture some amazing images!
Thank you, ladies, for the great time!! Here's a peek:
