Notice anything different?

Over the next few weeks you'll notice some changes around here... changes that are for the better in stream-lining my photography style, the services I provide, and my branding (logo, blog, website, etc.)
I'm trying to set up the blog to show larger pictures so that you don't have to rely on clicking the images to see them bigger. One of the things I mentioned in my previous post was how much I love details, and I'd love for my images to take a more center-staged look!
So if this blog keeps changing each time you look at it, don't freak out. It's just undergoing a makeover!

Oops! One more thing. Not only should you be on the look out for changes around here, but I'll soon be posting information on my holiday mini-sessions. I'll be scheduling mini-sessions in October and November, offering a super discounted price on session fees and holiday cards. Again, just be on the look out! Once they're full, I won't be offering any other specials until 2009!

Mary & Josh : St. Simon's Island

Last Saturday, I had an amazing opportunity to shoot with Jill Higgins, a wedding and portrait photographer here in town, as well as Amanda Suanne from Destin, Florida.
Mary and Josh got married at
Epworth by the Sea on St. Simon's Island, and it was such an honor to be in their presence as they joined their lives surrounded by family and friends. The following are a few collages of images from Mary and Josh's wedding day.
One of the exciting things about this wedding is that because I wasn't the main photographer (that was Jill's job) I was able to focus on taking shots of the details of the Big Day and taking similar photographs at different angles. The details are actually what I love the most about weddings because they speak to the time and effort couples put into the planning of their wedding.

Mary and Josh, I wish you the best of luck in the future. Of course, I don't think ya'll need the luck though, because both of you have excellent examples of love when looking at your parents!

Connor

This weekend I traveled to St. Simon's Island to shoot along side a fabulous local photographer Jill Higgins. Before the wedding, however, I met up with a long-time friend Carla and her son Connor. We ate lunch at the amazing Barbara Jean's Restaurant and then walked to a little park and did some portraits of Connor.
One of the things I love most about these set of images is that this mini-session was totally on Connor's terms. Carla was wonderful to just let him "do his thing" and sit back as I photographed him... which is the essence of a lifestyle session.

Come back later this week for images from my perspective of Mary & Josh's wedding. It was beautiful and I can't wait to edit them!

The Haven's 11th Annual Silent Auction

For the past few years, my best friend Katrina has worked at the Haven as a therapist working with women who have survived domestic violence. I've attended the Silent Auction with her in previous years, but last year was the first that I actually participated in putting something up for auction. It was a great experience, and I've decided to do it again this year!

Tonight, if you don't already have plans, please come out to Mathis Auditorium and show support to the Haven. The auction raises thousands of dollars each year that goes directly to help these women rebuild their lives. There will be so many things up for auction... I remember last year there were gift certificates for salons, jewelry, framed art, golfing packages, kitchen supplies, restaurant certificates, and even vacation packages. This year, I'll be auctioning off a free session and $100 toward prints and products.

Even if you don't attend the Auction tonight, but wish to support the Haven, I'll be offering a special for the next month by donating $10 from each session I schedule to the organization if you mention this blog post when booking.

Anna : Class of 2009

This afternoon, I met up with Anna and her mom in downtown Valdosta for Anna's Senior Portraits. I was so excited to begin photographing the Class of 2009... Anna's mom called me just as I was making my Senior Campaign for this year!
In honor of my 10th anniverary being graduated from high school (ugh... I'm so old!) I thought that offering a few specials might peek interest. Enjoy Anna's pictures below, and be on the look-out for a post later this week about how you can schedule your own Senior Session!

Rachel & Adam : Part Deux

A little late, but as promised... more images from Rachel and Adam's wedding.
Rachel and Adam have known one another since high school. They began dating, then Rachel went to college and Adam went into the Navy, so they maintained a long-distance relationship for atleast four years. Now Rachel is moving to be with Adam, but he's leaving shortly to go to sea. The love these two have for one another is nothing short of adorable!

After leaving the reception, I joined Rachel and Adam for some more portraits at a model home near Rachel's parent's home. They wanted extra pictures after the wedding with a pretty background but because the weather was so miserably hot, outside wasn't an option. Thankfully, the manager of the new development agreed to let us use the model home.
