Cute as a Button

Madeline was all smiles Sunday morning during our session together. She's playful, loves to eat her clothing, and is totally in love with her daddy. He was a great sport and stood behind me during most of our session... I'm sure making faces at me. :) Whatever he did, he can keep doing it every time we have a session because it worked.

Isn't it amazing the way that people act when there is a baby around? Everyone is so lovely dovey around them, hugging them, cooing at them. I actually felt like I had an out-of-body experience because I could have sworn that I followed suite... which is something that I told myself I'd never do. I guess when you're around an adorable baby, you can't help yourself.

Sunday's session was Madeline's second installment of her Bloomin' Baby package, which follows babies every four months through their first year. Here are some of my favorites from her session.

Brady

Saturday morning I hung out with Brady and his tractor. In complete boy fashion (or, should I say 2 year old fashion... I don't think the boy thing had anything to do with it) I had to work hard for my money. ::cue Donna Summer's voice singing that song::

Despite working up a sweat at 8:30 in the morning, Brady was such a doll to photograph. He even brought his own props! Here are some of my favorites from our session together.

Remember THIS post about Gentry that I made a few weeks ago? I titled it Gentry, Part One with all intentions of posting "part two" a few days after.... better late than never, right? :) Thankfully, I'm a good enough person to have already delivered Gentry's portraits to her parents, so I'm just a bad blogger with the follow through. Hahaha.

If you'll remember, I mentioned something about tutus in Gentry's first blog post. Here they are!

I'm almost at a loss for words with this black & white image.

Two peas in a pod... Gentry and her mommy. I don't know which one of them loves the other more.

This might just be the most beautiful picture EVER.

Thanks, blogland, for being patient. It was worth the wait, wasn't it?

Etsy... like Betsy, without the B.

That's how I pronounce Etsy to others... like Betsy, without the B. Etsy is a wonderful online craft community and if you've never gone there, I invite you to do it now. Not when you're finished reading this post. Not when you've finished reading this paragraph. Now. Go. www.etsy.com Etsy is a slightly obsession for me last year around the holidays. I always put a lot of thought into my Christmas gifts (admittedly, probably too much) and when I stumbled upon Etsy, I was in heaven. Almost every person who received a gift from me last year for Christmas got something that was purchased on Etsy.

Sidenote... you're probably asking yourself "Why is this photographer blabbing on about crafts and Christmas?" Read on, I promise you'll understand in a second.

I'm telling you about Etsy because I have an online store there. A store of a lot of things, but partly a store of my nature pictures. I named it Craft Therapea because crafts (photography, art, sewing, or otherwise) is my therapy to reduce stress in my life. Check it out: www.crafttherapea.etsy.com Remember
this post about seashells? You can buy them in my store. Remember this post about the Kentucky landscape? Yep, you can buy them too. Remember this post about Grand Bay? You can buy some of my waterlily images there. Remember this post about my experience at the Butterfly Rainforest. They're there too.

Even cooler is that now through Friday at midnight (Eastern time), I'm offering a big discount on my Etsy store. Order anything and everything and receive it all for just $1 shipping. It's a nice savings for one item, but you really save when you buy more! Buy more, save more. It's that simple. Whether you just decided to make-over your guest bathroom and are in need of that "perfect picture", or find something that would be perfect for a relative at Christmas... mosey over there and check it out! If you happen to be interested in something, simply include "I saw this on your blog" in the notes secton of your order form, and I'll return your shipping costs less $1.

Amber, what a Cutie Patootie!

So really, you've got to be kidding me here. How cute is Miss Amber?! I posted one image of her on Sunday and couldn't wait to reveal my other favorites to you! I exercised some control, but couldn't hold out any longer! :)

Amber is 4 months old, and just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. And yes, I do realize that I say this about ALL of my baby clients, but it's true. Each in their own way, they're all the cutest thing!

Sunday morning I met up with Amber and her mom, and we transformed their back deck into a beautiful photo location. As an aside... one of the things I love most about being an on-location photographer is that I come to you or we go somewhere together. I always laugh when parents say "my home isn't bright enough" or "good luck finding a spot for pictures". It's amazing how you can totally transform something into the perfect picture taking area. Amber's parents have a beautiful deck out back and even though it was sunny during our session, their huge umbrella for the outside table provided the pefect amount of shade! Alright, back on task...

Here's Miss Amber! :)

Just one for now...

... or maybe two! Miss Amber is too cute for words. I can't decide which one I like better, so I'll show both versions. Which is your favorite?

Check back later this week for more of my favorites from her session!

Farm Life

Though not for me in a permanent setting, I have a full understanding of why my mom was happy to trade her city life for the farm life. Peaceful. Quiet. Beautiful. Serene.
This is my last post about my Kentucky trip last month. I had to dedicate an entire post to these barns because I'm in love with them. Feel free to click on the individual images to show them larger.

Just like Lay's potato chips...

... I can't post just one.

A few weeks ago when I went up to Kentucky for my mom's wedding, I took full opportunity of the rustic country-side, and went on a photo exploration around the farm. Here is just a sampling of my favorite images...

And finally, one of the most beautiful sights there ever is to see. A sunset.
