Now accepting love of all kinds...

Jill, a good photographer friend of mine, recently told me that only if you're a Google member are you allowed to post comments on my blog. I had NO idea, and feel horrible for readers who haven't had a chance to comment because they weren't able to do so.
Thanks to this knowledge, I've opened up the gates and now ANYONE can comment.

So... bring it on, I'm now accepting love of all kinds! :)

Changes... they are a comin'...

I'm so excited to announce that I'm making the switch from Olympus to Canon equipment. While I will hang on to my Olympus e-500 camera for back-up, I will proudly utilize my Canon 20d for all shoots (that is, once I get the hang of it!)
I've been thinking about changing equipment for a while now, but was just recently presented a deal that I couldn't turn down. The thing I love about Canon equipment is that there are SO many different lenses. I truly feel that my photography will improve with this upgrade... especially in lower light situations!

Stay tuned for new images from the camera!!

Caddy Shack... Valdosta Style

Last weekend, Brett and I joined some friends at the driving range. Being that I'm inept at playing golf, I chose to bring my camera as a source of entertainment.

Here's Brett setting up:

Golf + cool photography = a sun-flared shot!

Brett's friend, Thomas, showing off his skills.

Toward the end of the day, I tried my hand at golf... and Brett tried out the photography thing. I think I'd rather stick to photography. :)

Lastly, some artistic shots from the day.

After Dark

Monday night, a few local photographers got together in downtown Valdosta for a an evening of photos, food, and great conversation. The evening began after meeting up with Keri, a beautiful (and sweet!) model that attends VSU. I had never done a night shoot before, so I was more into looking at what the other photographers were doing than using my own camera. After some observation, I tried my hand at it... and I was happy to find this:

A big thanks to Jill for inviting me out. I had a blast, as usual!

Makenzye

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to join the Spivey family once again for pictures. This time, the focus was on Makenzye who was born just 11 days earlier.

A few options for Makenzye's birth announcements:

Birth Announcements

I don't know nothing 'bout birthing babies (to quote Mamie from Gone with the Wind), but I love taking pictures of them. Almost as much as pictures, I love creating their birth announcements. Oftentimes, they provide distant family and friends with the first glimpse of the baby... which makes it very important for me to do a good job.
Brett is watching movies this afternoon, allowing me the perfect opportunity to design Lannah's birth announcement. I'm so tickled with how they turned out, that I just had to share the options with you guys!

Lannah

Before tomorrow morning's newborn shoot (I know, another one, can you believe it?!) I wanted to finish up with Lannah's newborn pictures and show you guys how beautiful she is! So tiny... such a miracle... so perfect!
