Goosebumps...

Sunday, I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Lannah and her parents! I documented Rachel's maternity session in December, and couldn't wait until Lannah got here. She was born just over a week ago, and is one of the cutest babies ever! I'm still editing her images, but had to share this!

Morgan Paige is here!

In December, I took Keith and Melissa's Christmas pictures. They sent out the CUTEST Christmas card with their picture on it that read "Expecting more than Santa this year"... and boy were they right! Even though Morgan wasn't due to be born until January 4th, she graced everyone with her presence on December 22, a few days before Christmas.
Due to scheduling, Melissa and I weren't able to get together until Saturday for some pictures of Morgan. I tried my best to make her look newborn, but she's grown so much that it was difficult to get that "fresh baby" look. She's adorable though, and that's all that matters right?

Ethan & Eli

Saturday morning, despite the nasty weather, I ventured over to Ethan and Eli's house for some pictures. I managed to find a few places where the lighting was good, and took advantage of the time that I had.
I was so excited to be able to use my new heart rug that I recently bought at IKEA! Here are a few images from the session:

Makenzye Summer is here!

My good friend Amanda had her baby today! Makenzye Summer was born at 12:32pm and weighs 8lbs, 3oz. Today after work I went to the hospital to see her... and of course I took my camera. The lighting was really poor, and I didn't want to startle the baby too much, so I didn't use my flash. They're a bit grainy, but I still wanted to share. Amanda gets discharged on Saturday from the hospital. I told her I'd meet her at the house to take newborn pictures. Nothing like getting them early, huh? :)

Merry Birthday!

On the weekend of January 12, I drove up to Atlanta to spend time with my mom and brother. They spent Christmas with my grandparents in Florida, while I spent Christmas with my husband's family in Atlanta.
Not only were we celebrating our Christmas, but my mom's birthday was the 12th, and my brother's birthday was yesterday. So... we had a Merry Birthday celebration! I had such a fun time with them; it was wonderful being able to spend uninterrupted time together. We went to IKEA (my first experience!), ate wonderful Atlanta food, and just "hung out".
Saturday night after mom's birthday dinner, we went home for our Christmas/birthday exchanging. I was so excited, as I KNEW that I had gotten Brian the COOLEST Christmas/Birthday present ever (which I taunted him with that saying all day!) He told my mom in November that he wanted a bass guitar for Christmas. I knew that it would be a stretch for my mom to get one, so I did some thinking... and remembered that my husband had an electric guitar that he hadn't played in a few years. We ended up getting new strings, and cleaning up a few parts for him. Needless to say, my brother freaked out, as you can see in the following collage:

Mom also loved her Christmas gift... a set of three framed landscape images I took last year. I can't wait to see them hanging in her house!

Bad Blogger...

Sorry for the lack of pictures recently. January, being cold and rainy, doesn't seem to be the best time of year for outdoor, natural light portraits for some reason... :)
Although these aren't portrait pics, I did want to share with you some pictures I took this weekend. My husband and I (along with our great friends) installed laminate floors in our house. I'll spare you images of us acting like fools, but I wanted to show off our handy work.
Here's a before and after shot.

If anyone is considering installing laminate or wood flooring, GO FOR IT!

Okay, I promise that my next post will include real pictures! :)

Valentine Special... For His Eyes Only!

I'm so excited about this, I can hardly stand it! A while back I had an opportunity to shoot a boudoir session, and I was wonderful being creative and celebrating the beauty of womanhood!
This year for Valentine's Day, I thought to offer a Boudoir Marathon in Valdosta. I've chosen the perfect location... now all I need are beautiful women who want to give their men something better than the expected!

Meet Katrina's Belly...

... cause you'll be seeing alot of it over the next few months, and what's inside of it in May!
One of the most exciting things about being best friends with Katrina (okay, ONE of the best... she's really a rockin' person) is that she's pregnant. Seriously, what more could a photographer ask for? A best friend who is willing to submit her body to photography torture, and verbal agreement to allow her child (Baby E, since no one knows this child's name yet) to be submitted to photography torture. I'm beyond thrilled! This all would make one wonder why it's been 5 1/2 months and Katrina hasn't take a SINGLE picture of her belly. None. Zip. Nada.
Last night, I went over to her house with the sole intention of picking up my Pampered Chef order from a party she had a while back. I left her house with a handful of images of her belly! My camera just HAPPENED to be in my car... :)

Without further ado, here's the blog debut of Baby E. Isn't she beautiful?

And my favorite of the bunch... she looks like she's enjoying her pregnancy!

Top 10 of 2007

2007 has been such an amazing experience for me. I've gotten to know so many wonderful people, and have been able to express my creativity in neat ways. I've travelled to Jekyll Island, Amelia Island, and Atlanta for photo sessions. I've celebrated with 4 newlywed couples. I've acted in goofy ways to get the perfect smile. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for allowing my to share my vision with you.
With the new year brings new challenges, and I hope to broaden my photography horizons in 2008. Before posting anything new, I wanted to take a trip down memory lane of my favorite client images in 2007.

In no particular order:

#1: Melissa randomly posted on my blog one day about a Trash-The-Dress session, and the images turned out amazing. Her pink dress popped awesomely!

#2: Kyndall is a great example of what happens when parents leave their children during sessions... natural smiles. This is a favorite because it's a 100% smile.

#3: Jason and Rachel are the CUTEST couple EVER! Rachel is due in the middle of January, and I can't wait until little Lana has her first photo session with me! Every one of their images is my favorite... they ooze love.

#4: Does this image really need an explanation? :)

#5: Anna makes me smile each time I see her. She's got such a personality... and on her 1st birthday, it was no exception! Here she is diving into her cake!

#6: Aaron and Misty's session was perhaps the first one I ever walked away from confident that I nailed the images. This is a favorite from the session, and an all-time favorite of mine.

#7: While preparing for Christen and Matt's wedding in October, Christen had one image request... this shot. When her parents were married, this pose was taken of them. When her sister married, the pose was re-created again. What a special tradition to pass down!

#8: If ever I wanted to become BFF with a client, Stacy is the one. Too bad she lives in Florida. Stacy and Phil's wedding wasn't just the joining of them, but also of their family... and all six kids were in the wedding party.

#9: A Christmas tree costume? I was a little intimidated when I heard about this thing... but I've smiled hundreds of times over this image.

#10: Pregnancy is such a blessing... but for Erin, it was attached with heart ache. Just two months before the birth of her son, Erin's boyfriend passed away. Her maternity session was so emotional, I still get goose bumps thinking about it.

It was SO difficult narrowing down my choices... I have so many wonderful images to choose from, and my clients are some of the most spectacular people! I'd love to hear your comments... which is your favorite?
